Early Life and Career Beginnings
Marisa Miller was born Marisa Lee Bertetta on August 6, 1978, in Santa Cruz, California. She is the daughter of Marc and Krista Bertetta, and she has two younger sisters. As a teen, Miller went to Aptos High and Monte Vista Christian School, where she was a standout volleyball player. She considered herself a tomboy and had mostly male friends growing up. At the age of 16, Marisa was discovered by two Italian modeling agents in San Francisco. A few months later, Miller and her mother were on a plane to Italy.
Marisa began gaining attention in 1997, when she appeared nude in the first issue of the men’s magazine “Perfect 10.” She was subsequently showcased in many following issues, including on the covers of the Winter 1998 and August/September 1999 editions.

Career Takeoff and Victoria’s Secret
In 2007, Marisa filmed her first television commercial for Victoria’s Secret, appearing alongside Heidi Klum to promote the “It” bra. Also that year, Miller made her debut in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Her other runway appearances include the Fashion for Relief show benefiting Hurricane Katrina victims, and MTV’s “Fashionably Loud.” In 2008, Marisa embarked on a five-city tour to promote Victoria’s Secret’s Swim collection. She stopped in cities including New York City, Chicago, Miami, Boston, and Minneapolis. Subsequently, Miller had her first official campaign as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, promoting the brand’s Very Sexy Dare fragrance. In the 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Marisa was chosen to wear that year’s Fantasy Bra, which featured 2,300 diamonds and a 16-carat heart-shaped diamond pendant; its value was $3 million. Miller confirmed in late 2010 that she had parted with Victoria’s Secret to pursue other projects.

Miller has made a number of appearances on television programs. In 2004, she served as a judge on the Bravo reality series “Manhunt: The Search for America’s Most Gorgeous Male Model.” A few years later, Marisa appeared in two episodes of the VH1 reality show “The Shot” and made cameos in the comedy series “Entourage” and “How I Met Your Mother.” In 2009, she was a guest judge in an episode of “America’s Next Top Model” and had a bit part in an episode of the sitcom “Gary Unmarried.” The following year, Miller cohosted an episode of “GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley.”
