Dominic Cooper was born Dominic Edward Cooper on June 2, 1978, in Greenwich, London, England. He is the son of nursery school teacher Julie Cooper and an auctioneer Brian Cooper. He has two brothers, Nathan and Simon, and two half-siblings, Emma and James. Nathan is a member of the electropop band The Modern. Cooper studied at John Ball Primary School and Thomas Tallis School before training in Professional Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). He graduated from LAMDA in 2000.
Career
In 2001, Cooper played Sidney Davidson in the Hallmark Channel miniseries “The Infinite Worlds of H. G. Cooper was formerly roommates with his “Starter for 10” and “The History Boys” co-star James Corden . He introduced Corden to his wife, Julia Carey, and he is the godfather of the couple’s first child, Max. From 2008 to 2009, Dominic dated his “Mamma Mia!” co-star Amanda Seyfried on and off. He began a relationship with actress Ruth Negga in 2010 after co-starring in a National Theatre production of “Phèdre.” They later appeared together in the film “Warcraft” and the TV series “Preacher.” Dominic and Ruth split up in 2016, and in 2018, he began a relationship with actress Gemma Chan .
