Early Life
Alisyn Camerota was born on June 21, 1966, in Bellingham, Washington. Camerota grew up in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, and she is of Italian American descent. She graduated cum laude from the American University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Career
Alisyn joined CNN News later that year, and she began her new gig as co-anchor on “New Day” on July 25, 2014. In 2015, she became a permanent co-anchor for “New Day.” The show’s viewership increased by 9 percent after Camerota began appearing on it. In April 2021, she started a new job co-hosting “CNN Newsroom.” She appeared with Victor Blackwell during the 2-4 p.m. slot. In December 2024, Alisyn announced she was leaving CNN.

Notable Coverage
Being a correspondent meant reporting live from the heart of the 2004 and then 2008 presidential elections, anchoring around-the-clock coverage of momentous events such as the start of the Iraq War, as well as the airplane crashes involving JFK Jr., Egypt Air, and American Airlines Flight 587. Furthermore, she was the one to report the happenings from Ground Zero in the wake of the September 11th attacks. Alisyn has been married to Tim Lewis since 2002. They have fraternal twin daughters (born 2005) and a son (born 2007.) Their daughters were conceived via in-vitro fertilization, and she appeared in 2010 on “Today” to discuss their infertility issues. Camerota has served as the host of the National Infertility Association’s “Night of Hope Celebration.” The family resides in Westport, Connecticut.
